Trailer 2009: the green light for a revival in trade

Issue: Autumn 2009

The thirteenth Trailer trade fair takes place on 20th - 24th November this year. Kortrijk Xpo in Belgium, which has recently been the subject of a major revamp, is again the venue for what will once again be the perfect backdrop for all the latest on trailers, semi-trailers, bodybuilders and all kind of accessories and telematics for transport and logistics. The impact of the financial and economical crisis has left its mark on the transport industry. Yet a few silver linings are being spotted on the horizon.

The improved confidence of both entrepreneurs and consumers, may indicate that the worst of the crisis is already behind us.

Trailer 2009 has therefore spearheaded the motto ‘Beyond the transport crisis’. In other words, exhibi tors and the Trailer team are keeping tabs on the bigger picture, looking past the difficult times that we are faced with at present. At the event, those exhibitors that want to have a front-row seat during the revival will be given the unique opportunity to attract and renew contacts in 2009.

With almost all other professional trade show being cancelled or postponed this year, Trailer has wittingly stuck its neck out in order to again present an ideal platform for the sector to promote itself. In effect, exhibitors are finding that Trailer is becoming the point of reference as the professional trade fair, not only in Belgium but far beyond. Their presence at the show will guarantee an influx of crucial contacts from Holland, the north of France, the west of Germany and the United Kingdom.

As in previous occasions, Trailer will offer a platform for the latest innovations. Companies that want to put new products can attract the necessary attention at this year’s event. The Trailer Award for best vehicle will be awarded to a (semi-) trailer in its whole. The Trailer Award for best accessory is awarded to the most innovative fittings, be it in the field of superstructure, spare parts or other products that are on display at the show.

If you’re in any way connected with the road haulage industry, a visit to Trailer 2009 is a must. Don’t be put off because you think Belgium is a long way away – it isn’t.
