Zenloc container and trailer security alarm launched in the UK

In a bid to reduce the number of thefts from containers, trucks and trailers an entrepreneur has unveiled a new security alarm that alerts drivers if someone is tampering with the rear doors.

The device is fitted to a container or trailer rear door and if disturbed sends a signal to the driver and emits a piercing alarm and strobe light to warn the attacker it has been activated.  The Zenloc can only be deactivated using a coded electronic key which is built into a receiver carried by the driver or operator.

The Zenloc could help unsuspecting truckers detect stowaways attempting to gain entry to their vehicles, as the UK border agency can order firms and drivers to pay fines of up to £4,000 per stowaway if they cannot prove they had an effective prevention system in place.

“I believe there is nothing like the Zenloc in the world and it should solve a lot of problems for haulers,” says Barry Schofield.
