New man at Port of Tyne
The Port of Tyne has appointed Andy Foulds as Commercial Director, Port Services. Andy will report to Steven Harrison, the Chief Operating Officer.
Andy will be responsible for commercial and business development within three of the port’s five business areas: bulk and conventional cargo, car terminals, and cruise and ferries.
A former General Manager with Maersk Line and a graduate of the University of Kent, Andy’s eighteen year career has taken him to work on four continents, covering all global trades with an industry leader in the maritime sector. He joins the port from Safmarine, a subsidiary of A P Moller Maersk, where he was Asia Regional Line Director (Singapore).

The Port of Tyne is a key player in the Tyne & Wear region; and is a dynamic trading hub with five business sectors comprising: conventional cargoes; supply chain services (container handling, warehousing, distribution, rail services); car terminals (Nissan and VW Group); International Passenger Terminal (cruise and ferries); and estates (68 commercial and manufacturing tenants, owner of 600 acres on the north and south side of the river Tyne). It is one of the largest trust ports in the UK and is operated on a commercial basis.
