RFG submits evidence for McNulty study
The Rail Freight Group (RFG) has taken the opportunity to submit evidence to the Rail Value for Money Study, launched earlier this year by Sir Roy McNulty.
In its response, RFG has made some general comments on our perception of rail costs and possible solutions and then addressed those specifically through seven study themes.
Tony Berkeley, chairman of group said: "RFG is pleased to submit this evidence to the Rail Value for Money Study. This is a vital study, shaping the rail network for the future, and offering the opportunity for rail freight to become even more cost efficient and competitive.
"There are also major potential threats to rail freight if actions are taken which undermine its ability to compete with road, and with passenger rail, on a fair and efficient basis. The outcomes of this study are therefore of key importance to us, and to our members."
