Free bad weather driving pocket guide

Issue: Winter 2010

Freight Best Practice Scotland has published a free Bad Weather Driving Guide for truck drivers

Winter motorway Freight Best PracticeThe Guide is specifically designed to give advice on driving in bad weather conditions. By following the best practice advice, drivers can minimise delays, improve safety, as well as saving fuel and therefore money.

During winter, professional drivers face more challenges than other road users through increased demands on their own concentration and on their vehicles. The pocket guide outlines simple steps to help drivers ensure their own safety and that of other road users. It offers advice to help check the vehicle is fit for purpose and how to plan routes whilst being flexible to road closures and rerouting.

Like all Freight Best Practice publications, the Bad Weather Driving Guide is completely free of charge and can be obtained by either v isiting: www.freightbestpractice.org.uk/ or by calling the hotline: 0845 877 0 877
