DKV customers can now set a limit for repairs
Drivers who break down out on the road or need a rental vehicle can obtain immediate assistance through the DKV Truck Service. A new feature of this service now enables hauliers to control repair and rental costs by imposing cost ceilings.
All a haulier needs to do to control costs in situations such as these is fill in one form. There are no upper or lower limits. The cost ceiling is binding and will remain in place until such times as it is cancelled in writing or changed. This means that a driver who suffers a serious breakdown will be able to use his/her DKV Card to pay for repairs up to the limit that has been imposed.
If the costs involved exceed the net amount set, DKV will notify the haulier immediately. The haulier can then decide whether or not the repair work should proceed or a replacement vehicle should be hired. The haulier is therefore able to exercise control over his/her costs and keep track of unexpected expenses. This free service is now available throughout Europe for all repair work arranged through the DKV Truck Service on the international freephone number: 00800 365 24 365.
DKV provides immediate assistance in 32 countries in addition to other services: as well as extensive emergency breakdown services, the company is also able to coordinate and arrange vehicle repatriation, interpreting services and procurement of parts.
The new DKV Truck Service Infocard comes in a handy cheque card format and contains all the information a driver might need in an emergency. This includes the free emergency breakdown number which is manned round the clock.
The form required to apply for cost ceilings is available from DKV offices.
