Women who excel in the sector, whatever their role, only have until 9th February to enter the eighth FTA everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards programme.

The awards aim to showcase the achievements of the growing female workforce – whether they are senior sector leaders, rising stars or those that go above and beyond their daily role – and encourage future talent to explore the opportunities and benefits offered by the sector, in which the UK is perceived as a global leader.

Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by a colleague or associate, and can be put forward for a maximum of two categories

In January, business leaders of those transport and logistics companies committed to achieving greater gender diversity in their organisations came together at the House of Commons to celebrate the Awards.

Launch host, Mary Macleod MP, spoke on the importance of diversity within the transport and logistics industry, encouraging the nominations of talented women who, by showcasing their achievements, will inspire and encourage future talent to explore the opportunities and benefits offered by this enormously diverse sector.

The Awards are free to enter and categories are as follows:

  • Rising Star of the Year Award – Sponsored by Wincanton
  • Driver of the Year Award
  • The Warehousing Award – sponsored by DHL
  • Innovation & Sustainability Award
  • Team Leader of the Year Award
  • Leader of the Year Award – sponsored by Asda
  • Industry Champion Award – sponsored by TNT (awarded to an individual, male or female)

Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of everywoman, commented: “The sector has worked tirelessly to encourage diversity through its commitment to training, promotion and job satisfaction.  The success of this is now being felt across the industry, but there is more that can be done to attract women and to demonstrate why transport and logistics are paths to career prosperity.

“The awards are important because through celebrating success and showcasing the variety of job opportunities, we will ensure future generations of talent drive the industry forward as a global leader.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 3rd June at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
