DSV launches unaccompanied trailer service between UK and Europe
Global logistics business DSV has announced the launch of its full load unaccompanied trailer service to and from Germany, Central and Eastern Europe.
The service will ship via Immingham to Rotterdam. The haulage operation both in the UK and within Europe will be provided by its own fleet of tractor units. The import flows operate in reverse.
The service will be launched in phases, predominantly covering full load movements in phase one with part load and groupage solutions being offered in phase two.
With goods that are less time-sensitive and not perishable, DSV's unaccompanied service can be very beneficial in terms of cost and availability. The UK driver will collect and drop the trailer at the port for export, from there the ferry company will ship the trailer to Europe. Once on the quay, one of DSV's European based tractor units will collect the trailer and deliver to the client. The import operation will be conducted as above but obviously in reverse.
DSV provide complete tracking of consignments via its myDSV portal.
