A celebration of excellence in logistics

Businesses from across the freight and logistics sector were celebrating last night (7 December) after scooping prizes at Logistics UK’s prestigious Annual Awards.

The awards, held the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, celebrates the companies and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the logistics and supply industry in the past year.

Shortlisted entrants included representatives of the road, rail, sea and air industries including operators, manufacturers, logistics businesses and supporting industries, which were recognised for their outstanding commitment, knowledge and expertise.

Award winners included businesses such as John Lewis Partnership, Royal Mail, Brigade Electronics and Collett & Sons Ltd. Jamie Sands, Group Operational Support and Systems Manager, Welch’s Transport was named the Rising Star for 2023 and Tony Prescott, Managing Director, GTS UK, was announced as the Logistics Leader of the Year.

The awards evening included a glittering reception and celebratory gala dinner with entertainment provided by stand-up comedian Milton Jones.

David Wells OBE, Chief Executive of Logistics UK, commented: “Our Logistics Awards showcase the skills, expertise and ‘can do’ spirit of our industry and this year’s entries really have gone above and beyond to achieve their objectives. This year we received our highest number of top-quality entries to date - a clear indicator that the sector continues to innovate and achieve great things for businesses right across the economy.

“All those shortlisted for an award this evening should be very proud of their achievements, as competition was hotter than ever and selecting the winners generated plenty of debate among the judges.
